Grand-Pré 2017 is just around the corner and you can be part of the team – We need volunteers for a variety of roles ranging from helping at the Info and Volunteer tents and registering powwow participants or assisting at the gathering circle, the Cultural Village or Le Rendez-vous Acadian tent; helping with Grand Entries, parking and acting as Ambassadors for the event. There really is something for everyone’s interests! If you speak French, English and/or Mi’kmaw we want to hear from you!

Summer is here and The Canadian Red Cross urges you to wear a Personal Flotation Device or life jacket in or around the water. Every year, an average of 525 Canadians drown. Don’t let your loved one become another statistic. If you don’t have enough PFDs for your family, group, or business outing, The Canadian Red Cross can two week long PFD loans, free of charge. Contact the Kentville Red Cross at 678-0415, or in person at 10 Pelton Drive in the Kentville Industrial Park.
Be an everyday hero in your community. Parkinson SuperWalk takes place this September. Since 1990, the event has been raising awareness and funds to support Canadians with Parkinson’s, their families and the health professionals that treat them. Annapolis Valley Macdonald Museum – opens April 3rd, from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Come in and see the Nova Scotia Museum’s antique clock and watch collection, the Rusty Nail exhibit began by local high school students, the recreated General Store and Classroom, the Children’s activity area, plus new temporary exhibits coming soon.
